Aspects on favor of surfing in Perú - Why surfing in Perú is so cool!
In our country the coast is shark free, none of our beaches has a shark problem. It has never been reported a shark attack to a surfer, something that frequently happens in Australia, South Africa, Hawaii, Florida and, in less degree, in California. The ocean's temperature is also adequate, and it varies according to the seasons along the year. In general it is necessary to use a neoprene wetsuit, but never anyone that surfed the Peruvian waves has being able to say that the cold water kept them from surfing.
Tourist Destinations
In Perú there are 3 distinct regions: the coast, the jungle and the mountains. The weather is extremely diverse, varying from the tropical temperatures of the jungle, to the artic coldness of the Andes mountain range. In the costal region the temperatures are constant almost all year long, with an average of 20°C. The weather is stable because of the trade winds blowing from south to north, the cold Humboldt Current going from south to north along the coast and the presence of the Andes Mountains Chain nearby. The glaciers and plateaus of the Peruvian mountain range are considerate some of the most elevated in the world, like the Huascaran (6.768 m) The tropical forest constitutes a real natural reserve for animals like the jaguar, the anushi-puma (look breņero lion), the armadillo, the pecari, the tapir and the malero bear. There are different monkey, lizard and turtle species, and an extent variety of snakes and insects; among the birds we can find flamingos, parrots, toucans and other tropical species.
