Aspects on favor of surfing in Perú - Why surfing in Perú is so cool!
In our country the coast is shark free, none of our beaches has a shark problem. It has never been reported a shark attack to a surfer, something that frequently happens in Australia, South Africa, Hawaii, Florida and, in less degree, in California. The ocean's temperature is also adequate, and it varies according to the seasons along the year. In general it is necessary to use a neoprene wetsuit, but never anyone that surfed the Peruvian waves has being able to say that the cold water kept them from surfing.
El Cusco
Cusco city is located in the south oriental Andes, in the Valley of Huatanay River, at 3.360 M of altitude. Capital of the Inca Empire or Tahuantinsuyo. This city mixes the indigenous with the Hispanic; the city conserves an incredible amount of ancient archeological sites, like the Sun temple, Coricancha, the Sacsahuaman fortress and an incredible variety of walls, lintels and streets. Many of the current constructions made of adobe and roofed with red roof tiles, have been built on top of the ancient Inca stone foundations. Among the colonial edifications are the XVII cathedral, the Admiral's palace, the house of Inca Garcilaso, the archiepiscopal palace, the San Antonio Abad University and the prefecture. Though history Cusco has suffered several earthquakes, the one in 1950 destroyed a large part of the city, although the historical monuments where carefully restored.
